Josh placed a memory in our hearts but none more than Sheila and Paul Mathis that raised him. They took him into their hearts and home and he became their son. Their unselfishness and love opened a way for growth. "I want to grow up to be a clown,"Josh would say, "I like to make people laugh" And that he did! From his first ride on an airplane in to our hearts, to the first jump off the high board at the Sports Com , to the first church musical, Josh kept us all laughing. He was a precious child, and very intelligent. He loved life, that was for certain. Always running to me with the genuine Josh greeting."Aunt Paula", wham and the first thing I know he has me up in the air, like a quarterback throwing a football. I know that he is missed and is going to be missed by many. Tara, may God comfort you. Josh recieved Jesus as his Savior very young. I am glad that God gave me the strength and time to help with what I could and my husband as well. We were honored to be a part of his life and share our lives with him. We don't always understand God's plan. We just know that Josh is safe now,and that he may dwell in the Kingdom of God forever. He spoke frequently about his sisters Frances and Alisha; he learned to be content and to adjust with a smile that he graciously gave away.

Such a sad loss for the family. I taught Josh in elementary school. What a sweet boy he was to have had the pleasure to work with. I was glad to read that he continued his education and was a successful young man, having no doubt that even at an early age Josh would be. I have had to pleasure of knowing the family for some time and working with some of his siblings in Hilliard. My thoughts and prayers are for his family. May God give you strength and comfort during this time and may His grace be sufficient to meet all of your needs. God bless you all.

Josh will be forever missed. He is always in my heart and on my mind. We are all better for having known Josh and had him in our lifes. I miss him so much and live him dearly. Even though our life together was short, I cherish the 6 years we had. I have more memories than seem possible for this short time, Josh was all about living life to the fullest.

Josh, I will always remember you as that young boy that my father, Uncle Carl, and I would take fishing on the St. Mary's river. I will remember you as fun loving, fearless, and full of joy at our family Easter Reunion's (Watch out for that gator!). Our climb up Taylor's Mountain when you visited us in '88. I will always remember you and you will always live in my heart. Bless you, Josh, and your wife Tara.

Josh, I'm so glad that I met you! I know that you will truly be missed! I am just glad that you don't have to be here to suffer through anything anymore! God needed someone to sing to him and to make him laugh, so he took you from us, but it is the best place for you to be, so I'm just thankful for that! I will always remember you and there will always be a place in my heart for you!

Josh you were an amazing man and an awesome friend. You were always there and no matter what you were going through you always knew how to make everyone laugh. What you and Tara shared I think very few people are lucky enough to have, watch out for her and keep her strong for us. We will always love and miss you! Love Manda & Rylee
