Dear Messer Family: Please accept our sympathies during this difficult time. Mr. Messer was one of the most kind, sincere and genuinely nice people that I have known since I first met him when Scott and I were roomates at UGA and we will miss him, his fishing stories and his smile. Dear Family, I would like to express my condolences to you all. I worked with Don at Armstrong for over ten years. I was his electrical engineer at the Marietta carpet plant and all the carpet plants in the Dalton Area. I never worked for or with a finer man or engineer. He was always fair, honest and supportive. Several times my wife and I brought Lancaster county corn to your parents and we would have a corn roast at their home outside of Dalton. Great memories

I was 25, working with Armstrong for 1 1/2 years, and I was transferred to Dalton to work with Don and his team. It was one of the best experiences of my life. Don was a gem, who not only taught me how to be a better engineer, but how to be a better person. I am so sorry to read of his passing. Kathy Knouse Myers
