Brother John R. Haynes, passed away on February 1, 2023, at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford. John is survived by his wife, Lauren F. Haynes; daughter, Lene Harris (Ronnie); son, John Mark Haynes; brother, R. Morris Haynes (Gerrel); granddaughter, Lauren Harris (Mike); and great grandchildren, Weston and Scarlett. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Carrie Plant Haynes; his brothers, William H. Haynes (Frances) and A. Lawrence Haynes (Sarah); and his sister, Elizabeth Dean Haynes. John served in the Air Force for three and a half years and was a veteran of the Korean conflict. He pastored several churches located in Rutherford, Wilson, and Bedford Counties. He was also employed at State Farm Insurance Company for 38 years. In addition to this, he was an active member of the Alliance for the Mentally Ill and served as president for two terms in the local chapter. Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on February 12, 2023 from 1pm – 2pm with the service to follow at 2pm in the chapel. Pastor Anthony Williams will be officiating. Interment will be held at William Berry Jones Cemetery in Unionville, TN.
