Obituary of Robert Calk

Robert "Bob" Marion Calk, Sr, 84, of Murfreesboro, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012. He was a native of Byhalia, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mabel Calk; first wife, Alice Melton Calk; sisters, Kate Williams, Imogene Davis, Geneva Page; brother, Jack Calk. He is survived by his wife, Dorthy Morgan Calk of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter, Linda Denise Cruse (Jack) of Louisville, KY; sons, Robert M. Calk, Jr. (Milessa) of Murfreesboro, TN, Jeffrey Alan Calk (Holly) of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Allison Beech and Whitney Calk of Murfreesboro, Brian Cruse of Louisville, KY, Isabella and Adeline Calk of Nashville; great granddaughter, Anniston Beech; step grandson, John Morgan; step great grandson, Cyrus A. Morgan. Mr. Calk was a member of River Rock Baptist Church. He was a fifteen degree Scottish Rite Mason, member of Corinthian Lodge, Nashville, TN. He served in the US Navy and Naval Reserve. He retired from the FBI in June 1982 after 34 years. He then worked as a real estate broker, employee for State of Tennessee, retired in 1992 from Metro Davidson County Sheriff's office. He was always a dedicated employee and loved every job he held. Mr. Calk was a good Christian man, a wonderful role model as a father, husband and friend. Funeral Service will be conducted Monday, April 30, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Murray Mathis officiating. Graveside service will be Monday, April 30, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens. Burial to follow. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
