Emory Speer Heyward, Jr. age 81 passed away Sunday, January 1 , 2023.
Emory was born August 27, 1941 in Macon, GA.
Preceded in death by his parents Emory S., Sr. and Louise Powell Heyward and daughter Julia Lynn Heyward.
He is survived by his Wife of 59 years Sue T. Heyward; children Emory S. Heyward, III and Janet L. Heyward.
He attended Mercer University, BA 1963, West Georgia College, MA. 1975 and George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University, ED. S., 1979 and ED.D. 1980, and was a member of Kappa Alpha Order.
Emory served in the US Army Reserve 1961-1966.
He was devoted to his family, his dogs and UGA Football.
A private graveside service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Williamson Memorial Gardens, Franklin, TN
