Obituary of Michael Lilly

Michael "Squire" Lilly age 54, of Murfreesboro, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Lilly was a native of Johnson City, TN. Squire loved music and traveled the United States as a musician before he came to Murfreesboro to attend MTSU. Graduating with a Masters in Political Science, he became principal planner for the City of Murfreesboro for ten years. He then became vice president of development for Ole South Properties until he began Squire Lilly Development. He also worked with Clark Maple Realty as a Realtor and Auctioneer. Mr. Lilly was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Helen Lilly. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Lilly of Murfreesboro; stepsons, Daniel Richardson of Florida; Jason Richardson of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Nathan and Bethann Richardson; and aunt Doris Johnson of Johnson City. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 1:00 pm until the Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Lilly Family Cemetery in Johnson City, TN. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
