September 14, 2015 at 3:15 a.m., Sergeant Major Benny L. Lucas Sr., passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at the young age of 67.
Benny was a retired Sergeant Major, United States Army. He proudly and devotedly served his country for nearly 25 years with two tours in Vietnam, multiple assignments from Texas to Seoul Korea. Benny is preceded in death by his mother, father, sister, two brothers, daughter, and Wha Cha Lucas.
He leaves behind a loving wife, Ronne Lucas; sister, Patty Willis; five children, Carol Monroe, Benny Lucas Jr., Candida Metcalf, Yong Lucas and Bobby Morris. In addition, Benny is leaving nine grandchildren; one great grandson; an extended family, and friends all of which who loved him dearly.
We will cherish our time with this loving, kind, and caring man. Benny was an avid fisherman. He loved to camp and hunt. Most of all, he loved his family and friends. Benny will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 4:00-6:30 p.m. at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Odom officiating. Burial in Wilson County Memorial Park with Full Military Honors.
