Martha Carolyn Bennett Davenport, age 80, passed away at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro on Sunday, April 19, 2015. Mrs. Davenport was born on February 1, 1935 to Grady W. and Mildred Sanders Bennett. She was a retired school teacher.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Davenport whom she married in 1951, two sons, John Davenport of Florida, Charles Davenport of Murfreesboro; a daughter, Karen (Charles) Atnip of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, John (Annette) Bennett of Myrtle Beach, SC; eleven grandchildren, Sarah Davenport, Matthew Davenport, Lindsey Davenport, Kimberly (Nouthak Khounesavady) Davenport, John (Tiffany) Davenport, Amy Atnip, Andrew Atnip, Robert Atnip, Dylan Atnip, Dana Atnip and Katherine Davenport. Three great grandchildren, Alyssa Davenport, Allyn Davenport and Honna Khounesavady.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, April 22, 2015 2-8 PM at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to the American Heart Association, Autism Speaks Organization or the MTSU Library.
