Earl Wayne Powell, Sr. was born November 13, 1927 in Bedford County and he passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in Broadmore Assisted Living at Murfreesboro at the age of 87. Earl was the son of the late Buford Dorris and Edna Lera Smith Powell. He was a livestock dealer and a veteran of the US Army. He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Juanita Powell who passed away on February 4, 2008, his parents, sister, Christine Smallin, and two brothers Bud and Marvin Powell. Survivors include one son, Earl Wayne (Karen Keeman) Powell Jr. of Nashville, daughter, Penny Dawson of Nashville, sister Nelle (Findley) McHaffey of Wartrace, TN, one Granddaughter, Melanie (Cody) Allison of Nashville, two Great Grandchildren, Maggie and Jack Allison of Nashville. Visitation will be Saturday, April 4, 2015, 10 am to noon at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Graveside services and burial will be Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro beginning at 1:30 PM. Bro. Tom Henry will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Broadmore Senior Living at Murfreesboro.
