I met Ray and his wife Shawna whilst attending a wedding in St. Lucia in 2009. He really was a fantastic guy - so full of life and just a real jolly character to be around.
So sorry to hear of his passing. I will always have fond memories of the short time I was lucky enough to spend with both Ray and Shawna.
Sorry for your loss X

I'm really sorry for your loss. I remember our families getting together when I was little and how Ray always tried to get me to smile. I always thought of him as a happy and funny person. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

Not only were Ray and Shawna the best of neighbors, but they remind us all of how life should be lived as a team: by giving our best efforts to our employers, caring for and beautifying our environment, and making time for family, friends, and neighbors. Ray was watchful – always looking out for us and our home. He taught us about the earth, planting, carpentry, and a host of useful skills. Although we learned so much from Ray, his most important contribution to our family was his ability to listen with empathy to our son. As an Army veteran, Ray was willing and able to listen to the traumatic events our son experienced in Iraq. Ray came into our son’s life just at the time Geoff needed him the most. Ray did what no one else could do.
We love you, Shawna. We know that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us all and who is pleased with the way Ray lived his life and contributed to the lives of all who knew him. We look forward to seeing him again one day.

This news really breaks my heart. My heart is breaking for Shawna and the boys and their families. We became friends at a young age. We built a deep and lasting friendship. You all felt more like family than friends. Even though we all lived miles apart, I've always carried you all in my heart. We pick up where we leave off when we talk and when we see each other. I'm so grateful I got to spend that time with all of you when you made time to come and see me not long ago.. I didn't know it would be my last time seeing Ray. Ray was a great person. He had a nice smile that warmed your heart and a laugh that made you laugh. He loved gardening and he would talk about what he planted and how they would grow. He also was a good artist. I feel blessed that he was a friend. He will be missed by all. Shawna I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you and the family in my prayers that God will help you through this. I wish I could be there in person to hug you right now. I love you all so much.
