Mr. Allen William Hughes of Murfreesboro passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital at the age of 87.
Mr. Hughes was born in Chicago, IL to the late Lawrence and Hazel Schumacher Hughes. He was married to Susan J. Hughes who passed away 12-30-2011.
Mr. Hughes served in the US Navy, member of the Elk's Lodge and a member of World Outreach Church.
Besides his wife and parents, Mr. Hughes was preceded in death 2 brothers.
Mr. Hughes is survived by 4 Sons, Jim Hughes of Augusta, GA, Steve Hughes of Phoeniz, AZ, Tom Shannon of Murfreesboro and Don Shannon of Delaware, Ohio. 1 Daughter, Mary Sparks of Columbus, Ohio, 1 Brother, Phil Hughes of Flordia. 9 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandhcildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 29, 2014 1-2 PM at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with memorial services following at 2 PM in the Chapel of Murfreesboro Funeral Home, with grandson Ricky Shannon officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Cancer Society or the Nashville Rescue Mission.
