Obituary of Lionel Bohne

Lionel Ashley Bohne, age 75, of LaVergne, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Stonecrest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN. He is predeceased by wife Katherine (Murray) Bohne, parents Henry and Pearl (Miller) Bohne, sisters Dorothy, Mazie, Muriel, and brother Howard. He is survived by a son, Lionel M. (Diane) Bohne, daughter, Denise (Frank) Holt, and grandson Braden Holt, all of Murfreesboro, TN, sister Patricia Flaherty of Moncks Corner, SC, many nieces and nephews, and devoted companion Marie Kendrick of LaVergne, TN. Lionel was a veteran of both the US Marines and the US Army, serving in the Korean War. Lionel was a native of Cohoes, NY, but settled in the Murfreesboro, TN area about thirty years ago. He was a painter and owner-operator of a drywall business for many years, primarily working on new home construction. After retiring, Lionel became active in the St. Clair Senior Center in Murfreesboro, where he enjoyed organizing and participating in activities such as square dancing, Wii tournaments, plays, and shooting pool with his friends. Lionel also enjoyed all types of boating and fishing with his family, and traveling with his companion, Marie. Visitation will be held Friday, June 17 from 4 - 8 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
