Obituary of M.D. Polk

T. Allen Polk, M.D., 63, of Murfreesboro, passed away Friday, February 02, 2007 at his residence after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer. Dr. Polk was a native of Gainesville, Florida, a member of Cason Lane Church of Christ for 18 years, and the Murfreesboro Breakfast Rotary. Dr. Polk served Murfreesboro as a Family Physician for 18 years and served as an officer with The Tennessee Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Polk was preceded in death by his father, Talmadge Anthony Polk. Dr. Polk is survived by his wife, Janet Polk of Murfreesboro; mother, Gwen Polk of Trenton, FL; daughter, Kimberly Polk Hughes (Richard) of Santa Cruz, CA; Son, Mark A. Polk (Mary Elam) of Murfreesboro; brother, Dr. Donald Polk (Mary Ellen) of Waynesboro, TN; sisters, Janice Engle (Jerry) of Grand Junction, CO; Fleeta Potier (Paul) of Jacksonville, FL, Mervene Polk of Gainesville, FL; grandchildren, Kendall Hughes, Bailey Hughes and Jackson H. Polk. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, February 03, 2007 beginning at 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Sunday, February 04, 2007 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews, Dr. Gabe Polk, Josh Polk, Jeremy Polk, Dr. Marcus Richeson, Dr. Micah Richeson, Dr. Matthew Richeson, Trey Potier, John Potier, Nicholas Polk.
