My sincere condolences to Vincent's family and friends. As my wife and son expressed in the previous two postings, we met Vincent at family day during boot camp. I am running the Marine Corp Marathon in Washington,D.C. on October 31st and raising funds for a local group - Operation Adopt-A-Soldier. I will be wearing a red USMC wristband with Vincent's name written on it. I will dedicate my run to him and the donations will be made in his honor to this organization. His passing has touched our family deeply and please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers everyday.

Our son, Sam, was in boot camp with Vincent and introduced us to him at graduation. Sam thought of Vincent as a good friend. He even mentioned that he and Vincent were going to try to get together at some point since Vincent used to travel upstate NY way. Our son was very saddened to learn of the sad news of your son's death. Sam is stationed in Okinawa, Japan as I write this. I send my sincerest sympathies and prayers for you and your family. It saddens my heart to hear of the loss of another one of our men in service. It saddens me it was Vincent. I can only imagine and hope I never have to find out what you are sure to be going through. My parents lost their son, my brother, in a car accident when he was 19 years old. He was enrolled in college in ROTC and preparing to enter the Air Force to serve one day too. His time, too, came too early. I have seen and lived through what my parents have been through. No parent should have to bury their child. I send prayers for strength and peace as you deal with the long, difficult road ahead. Sincerely, Christine and Pete DelSignore

I am so sorry for your loss. From what I heard on the news, what an honorable young man he was. You must be so proud. My brother returned safely July 31st from his 2nd tour. We all should be so thankful for the people who give their lives for our freedom. It's the ultimate sacrifice to give up ones life for his brothers. May God bless you and give you the peace that passeth all understanding.
