Obituary of Mary Westbrooks

Mary Smith Westbrooks, 80, of Christiana, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Westbrooks was born in Bedford County to the late Norman and Sally Smith. She worked for Chromalox and Community Care of Rutherford County and was a member of New Zion Church of Christ.
Mrs. Westbrooks was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Johnny Westbrooks Sr.; brothers, Gordon, Harold, Lytle, Benford, and Edwin Smith; nephew, Mike Pinkston. She is survived by her son, John (Sharon) Westbrooks of Murfreesboro; daughter, Connie (Roger) Potts of Christiana; grandchildren, Jason and Brad Potts; Brittany and Johnny Westbrooks; twin brother, Marion (Mary) Smith of Christiana; brother, Ellis (Katherine) Smith of Murfreesboro; sisters, Wilma Pinkston of Shelbyville; Marie (Charles) Sledge of Murfreesboro; Ann (Edmond) Windrow of Franklin; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, many other family members, friends and church families.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Friday, July 2, 2010 at 1:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro H.A. Beasley, Bro. John Houston, Bro. Darryl Lewis, and Bro. Edet Udofia officiating. Burial to follow at Westbrooks Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Leverette, Robert Bryant, Larry Wilhoite, Eugene Sanders, Jimmy Burns, Tommy Powell, Richard Stanaland, John Sullivan, Jeff Sullivan, and David Molder. Honorary pallbearers are the men of New Zion Church of Christ.
Family asks for memorial donations be made to New Zion Church of Christ Building Fund, 12083 New Zion Rd, Christiana, TN 37037.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Alive Hospice for all their great help and support.
