Please share a memory of Eliott to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Eliott (Eli) Nelson Horton, six months old, died unexpectedly Friday, May 7 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. He is survived by parents Erin Blasingame Horton and James D. Horton, Jr. of Murfreesboro, grandmother Nancy Blasingame of Murfreesboro, grandfather James Horton, Sr. of Athens, TN, grandmother Nancy Malone of Woodbury, cousins John Chance Cooke and Paxton Lacy Cooke, great aunts Kay Blasingame-Boike (David), and Beth Blasingame Cooke (Van) all of Murfreesboro, aunt Laurel Horton of Bedford, TX, aunt Ana Horton of Athens, TN, godmother Tara Little of Murfreesboro, godmother Amanda Nation of Murfreesboro, godmother Gina Hooper of Milton, godmother Charlene Evitts of Milton; family friend Karen Burrell of Murfreesboro, and special friend, Libby, his dog. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, John Nelson and Carolyn Lacy Blasingame of Murfreesboro. Although Eli's time on this earth was brief, the hole his leaving brings is unending. We don't understand why he had to leave so suddenly and entirely too soon, but we know that we are all the richer for having had him in our lives for even this very small amount of time. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 2:00pm until the funeral service at 3:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bill Dugan speaking. Burial to follow at Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund for Eli Horton at any Ascend Federal Credit Union under the account name of Diane Tuttle, Special Account for Eli Horton.
