Obituary of Charles McClanahan

Charles McClanahan, 76, of Murfreesboro, passed away Monday, January 18, 2010 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. McClanahan was born in Jacksboro to the late Paul and Maude McClanahan and was a longtime resident of Murfreesboro. He was a past volunteer of Rutherford Co. Civil Defense and Rutherford Co. Rescue Squad. He retired from Murfreesboro Electric Department, was a member of Windrow Church of Christ and was a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. McClanahan was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Donna Faye McClanahan; and granddaughter, Elen Marie Ayer. He is survived by his wife Sarah McClanahan; daughters, Charlene (Wesley) Lunn of Murfreesboro; Pam (Tony) Underwood of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Christian Underwood; Amy Lunn; Shaun Underwood; Donna Underwood; and brother, James McClanahan of Christiana. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 11:00am at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Frank Neal officiating. Burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Garden.
