Obituary of Charles Stumph

Charles Stumph, 90, of Smyrna passed away, Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Peachtree Center Nursing Home. Mr. Stumph retired from CSX Railroad in 1984 and from Fox Ridge Homes in 2004. He was a member of the Methodist faith, a U.S. Navy veteran having served in WW II, a 32 Mason at the John B. Garrett Lodge #711, Scottish Rite, and Al Menah Shrine Temple Clown Unit. Mr. Stumph was preceded in death by parents, Roby H. Sr. & Lucy Jones Stumph; brothers, Roby Jr. & Bryan Stumph; wife, Thelma Teeple Stumph; daughter, Connie Fitts; son-in-law, Earl Fitts; and granddaughter, Jennifer Hamby. Survived by grandchildren Mollie (Michael) Slaybaugh, Amy (Michael) Raines, grandson-in-law, Wesley Hamby; great grandchildren Abigail Smith, Vivianne, Jackson & Matthew Conn, Joshua Hamby, & Ryan Raines; great granddaughters, Marlei & Ava Wilson; and special friend, Lois Timberlake. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 11:00am until the funeral service at 2:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Br. Dan Parker officiating. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. A heart felt thank you to his special friends, caregivers and staff at Peachtree Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Al Menah Shrine Temple Nashville or Parkway Baptist Church Building Fund, Smyrna, TN.
