Annie Laurie "Ann" Comstock Smotherman, 93, of Murfreesboro passed away Friday, November 27, 2009 at Boulevard Terrace Nursing Center. Mrs. Smotherman was a native of Springhill and a longtime resident of Murfreesboro. She was a member of Farris Chapel Methodist Church.

Mrs. Smotherman was preceded in death by her parents, William Albert and Mary Lynn Vaughn Comstock; husband, Lester N. Smotherman Jr; son, Butch Smotherman; grandson, Kerry B. Fox. She is survived by her daughters, Janice (Dene) Porter and Gay (Ken) Kizer, all of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Jerry (Marcy) Porter, Daniel (Trish) Porter, Ken Fox, Jr and Keven (Rachel) Fox; three great grandchildren; Katie Porter, Alex Porter, Peyton Fox; nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday at 1:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
