Obituary of Frances Adams

Frances Louise Adams, 67, of Murfreesboro, passed away Thursday November 12, 2009 at Middle TN Medical Center. Ms. Adams was born in Franklin County to the late James and Ruby Adams. She worked for Blackbox Network Services, Inc., was a member of the Lions Club and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelors of Social Work in 1995. Frances graduated as a member of the Gamma Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Delta Mu National Social Work Honor Society, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the Golden Key National Honor Society and the Gamma Beta Phi Society. She was elected to be among the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges in 1995. Frances was a recipient of the College of Liberal Arts Senior Honor Student Award when she graduated from MTSU. During her college days, she served in the House of Representatives and participated in the Student Social Work Forum. Frances was a past recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow from the Lions International Foundation. She loved gardening, being outdoors, and various arts and crafts. Frances was an avid collector of angels, Hallmark ornaments and Longaberger baskets. Ms. Adams was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Fay Walsh. She is survived by her children, Tanja R. Forte of Murfreesboro; Michael A. Forte of Antioch; Charles R. Forte II of Estill Springs; brother, Richard Allen Adams of Hammon, OK; sister, Jimmie Ann Underdown of Athens, TN; brother, Harold Wade Adams of Wingo, KY; grandchildren, Nora and Caitlyn Forte. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, November 22, 2009 from 12:30pm until the memorial service at 2:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Dr. Tony Long officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lung Cancer Alliance or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
