Kevin Wayne Oard, 48, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., formerly of Huntsville, Ala., passed on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Centennial Hospital in Nashville after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was surrounded by family and loved ones. He was a 1979 graduate of Grissom High School in Huntsville and a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, where he studied mass communications and psychology. His career was in sales. He had a special love for his dogs and was a strong advocate for pet adoption. He was kind, loving and caring and will be missed by friends and family all over the world.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Oard, of Huntsville. He is survived by his mother, Sachiko Kay Oard, of Huntsville; and C. Justin, his good friend of 18 years, of Murfreesboro.

Visitation will be Friday, November 20, 2009 from 1:00pm until the memorial service at 3 p.m at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Leukemia Society and the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation.
