Bernice Melton Jacobs, age 85, passed away at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center Tuesday, May 23, 2006. Mrs. Jacobs was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Jessie Freet Winingar; husbands, Leslie Melton and Ray Jacobs; daughter, Faye Chomycia; brothers, John Winingar and Edwin Winingar; sister, Nora Pounds. Mrs. Jacobs is survived by Sons; Charles (Margie) Melton of Lake Charles, LA, Louis "Snookie" Melton of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; daughters, Barbara (Johnny) Johnson of Murfreesboro, Inalee Melton (Tom)Craft of Valley Stream, NY; Sister, Violet Chastain of Festas, MO; Son-In-Law, Ivan Chomycia of Chattanooga; 11 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 4 Stepdaughters. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday 10:00 am in the chapel of the Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Lowrance and Pastor Tony Ritchie officiating.
