Helen Hayes, 73, of Murfreesboro, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mrs. Hayes was born in the Gossburg community of BeechGrove, but was a longtime resident of Murfreesboro. She retired from Chromolox and later worked as an Allied Security Guard at Heritage Farms. She attended First Free Methodist Church. Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sallie Farless, husband, Riley Hayes; brothers, Joe Farless, Hall Farless, Monroe Farless, Lloyd Farless and Howard Farless; sisters, Dollie Mae Vaughn, Pauline Lewis, Pearl Reed, Lois Floyd and Myrtle Frazier. She is survived by her children, Kathy Nicholson of Murfreesboro, Judy Carol (John) McMahan of Murfreesboro, Terisia (Stan) Mallard of Murfreesboro, Carol (Gary) Ryan of Des Plains, IL; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Harley (Ezell) Farless of Manchester. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, December 29, 2008 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Smitty officiating. Burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Garden.
