Obituary of Irene Sears

Irene Sears, 72, of Manchester, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Medical Center of Manchester. Mrs. Sears was born in Tazwell, VA to the late John George and Nannie Bell Roarke Hagy. She operated Sears Restaurant in Tullahoma from 1974 to 1988 and then opened Summitville Cafe in 1988 operating it until her retirement in 2003. Mrs. Sears was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 28 years, Wilbur Morris Sears, son, Mark Preston Sears, daughter, Nannie Elizabeth Sears, and sister, Anna Lee Clark. She is survived by her son, John Sears of Manchester; daughters, Joy Sears of Manchester; Vickie (Wayne) Cranford of Manchester, grandchildren, Lori Tucker; Melanie Howland; brother, Claude (Joyce) Hagy of Bristol, VA; sisters, Loriene Walling of Bristol, VA; Norma (Phil) Ferguson of Greenwood, SC; aunt, Rose Marie Skeens of Bristol, VA; sister-in-law, Wilma Jean Newton of Lawrenceburg, TN; several nieces and nephews; the love of her life her 3 great-grandsons, Aaron Clayborne, Hayden Howland, and John Preston Tucker. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 11, 2008 beginning at 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be Friday, December 12, 2008 at 1:00 pm at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Bro. R.S. Rigney officiating. Graveside service will be Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 2:00 pm Eastern Standard Time at Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol, VA.
