Marie F. Rice, 86, of Murfreesboro, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mrs. Rice was a homemaker, she loved antiques and was a member of Beechgrove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her parents, Obie D. and Belle Freeman; granddaughters, Melissa Ashby; Leslie Rice; great-grandchild, Treet Ashby; brothers, John Freeman; Shoffner Freeman; Homer Freeman; Horace Freeman; sister, Thelma Saine. She is survived by her husband, Ray Rice Sr. of Murfreesboro; son Ray Jr. of Murfreesboro; daughter, Linda Sue (Randy) May of Fayetteville; brother, Obie Freeman of Manchester; sisters, Alma Getsay of Manchester; Billie Sue Maxwell of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Amy Carlton of Estill Springs; Melody Wilson of Murfreesboro; great grandchildren, Corey Womack of Tullahoma; Tyler Allen Short of Manchester; David Randell Wilson of Murfreesboro; Tucker Carlton of Estill Springs; Tanner Carlton of Estill Springs; and great-great grandchild, Ethan Short of Manchester. Funeral service will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Beechgrove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, November 21, 2008 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
