ODE TO BETH SMITH By Catherine Patton Cothran, JANUARY 23, 2003 To Beth and House dedication for Carl A. Patton. Angelic in nature with a compassion beyond compare, you are a lady possessed with kindness that is rare. Your radiance, manifested by a perpetual glow, lets a warm smile show. My heart aches to say goodbye to such a wonderful, vibrant and caring person. I first met Beth in 2002 when we were both new to Habitat. I admired Beth for her compassionate leadership and how she gave so much of her time and love to all of us to succeed in Habitat's ministry. She was such fun to be around. I will miss her so much. My prayers are with her family at this time of deep sorrow. Beth, I love you and thank you for all you did to help families and the rest of us to achieve great things!

Heartfelt condolences to you all as you grieve the premature loss of such a kind and compassionate soul. Though I had not seen Beth for years I think very fondly back on her and the positive influence she had on me when I worked at the Sheraton. It was heartwarming to read about all the good Beth has done in the world and the many lives she has touched so beautifully. Very sad that she was taken so young. Wishing you peace on your journey. Namaste~Katryna

It was always a great joy to see Beth cheering, as I played basketball. Her brilliant smile was always such an inspiration, and a testament to the manner in which she approached life. GOD has allowed her spirit to touch me, since her passing, but she will still be greatly missed. For thought we didn't talk often, she was one of the most fondest persons I have ever known. My condolences to the McAlister and Smith families. ~ James E. Waller ~

I met Beth only twice-the first time was 2012 at a home improvement show. Women with bald heads and hats on seem to attract each other; she had one chemo treatment left and I was in the middle of mine. She was such a warm and friendly person and such an inspiration to me! We talked for a while and then in 2013 I went to visit her at Habitat for Humanity Store where we talked again about how blessed we were. I will always, always remember this wonderful woman!
