Walter Kent Laster, 59 of Smyrna passed away Thursday, July 03, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Laster was a member of Webb Grove AME Church in Murfreesboro and also a member of their Mens Chorus. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Laster was preceded in death by his brother, John Laster; sisters, Stella Nick and Nina Kathleen Dobbs. He is survived by his loving wife, Kolette Laster; mother, Jessie Dobbs; father, James Dobbs of St. Louis, MO; sons, Walter K. Laster, Jr. of Everett, WA, Jared Riley of Columbia, MO; daughters, Kimberly Laster-Sunderlin of Lynwood, WA, Dana Millner of St. Louis, Mo, Gorden Ashli Riley and Shanice Riley, both of Smyrna, TN; sisters, Cheryl Helm, Sybil Dobbs, Charlotte Lunceford, all of St. Louis, MO, Sonja Dobbs of Riverside, CA; brother, Barry Dobbs of St. Louis, MO; 7 grandchildren and host of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO with full military honors 1:00 pm Friday, July 11, 2008.
