Pansy Prater Hopkins, 84, long time resident of Greasy Creek, KY, passed away Tuesday, July 01, 2008 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born in Greasy Creek, KY to the late Andrew Jackson and Lexie Hamlin Prater. She was a former owner of Pikeville Floral, attended Old Regular Baptist Church of Greasy Creek and enjoyed to walk and participate in costume contest. Mrs. Hopkins is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marvin Hopkins; brother, Avery Prater; grandson, Brian Caissie. She is survived by sons, Bruce (Charlene) Hopkins of Grassy Creek, KY and Paul (Vicki) Hopkins of Greasy Creek, KY; daughter, Dr. Joanetta Spears and her husband Dr. Ken Caissie of Milton, TN; grandchildren, Kelly Caissie, Zach Spears, Polly Beth Hopkins and Daniel Caissie; sisters, Loretta Stumbo of Lexington, KY, Naomi (Jim) Bailey of Frankfort, KY, Berniece (Frank) Cloud of Lexington, KY; brothers, Reaford (Brenda) Prater of Nicholasville, KY and Dale (Susie) Prater of Little Rock, Arkansas; sister in law, Ola Prater of Greasy Creek, KY. Visitation with the family will be 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Murfreesboro Funeral Home Thursday, July 3, 2008. Visitation with the family will be Friday, July 4, 2008 at Lucas Funeral Home after 6:00pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 1:00 pm the Lucas Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Jack Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Annie E. Young Cemetery in Shelbiana, KY. Those wishing may send condolences online at www.murfreesborofuneralhome.com
