Dennis Akins, 44 of Nashville passed away Saturday, June 28, 2008 at St. Thomas Hospital. Mr. Akins was a truck driver for Vera Star. He was born in Belleville, Illinois to his mother and father Yvonne Ray and Cecil Odis Akins. Mr. Akins is survived by his spouse, Tammy Grubb of Nashville; mother, Yvonne Ray of Smyrna, and Roy Scruggs; father, Cecil Akins of Smyrna; children, Kristy Akins of Tullahoma, Elizabeth Barrett of LaVergne, Jessie May of Smyrna, Alex May of Smyrna, Jessica Grubb, Cody Reed; grandchildren, Alexis, Madison, Joeclyn, Landen, Willard, Jenna; sisters, Sheri Akins of Murfreesboro, Donna (Terry) Davis of Estill Springs, Angie Myatt of Smyrna; niece and nephews, Jeramie Fingers, Ashley Fingers, Peyton Davis; and his dog, Tiki.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 7:00 pm at Rock Springs House of Worship, 418 Rock Springs-Midland Rd, Christiana, TN 37037.
