Bobby Ray "Racer" Thomas, 78, of Christiana, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital. Mr. Thomas was born in Christiana and longtime resident of Rutherford County. He retired from General Electric. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Mae Bowman Hall father, James David Thomas, grandfather, Clinton Thomas and grandmother, Elizabeth Walker Thomas. He is survived by his son, Clint (Karen) Thomas of Mt. Juliet; grandsons, Asa "Jake" Thomas; Zak Sneed (Kelsey) both of Mt. Juliet; sisters, Selene Potts of Christiana; Brenda Miller of Mt. Juliet; Gayle Porter of Christiana; and brother, Danny Hall of Walter Hill. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 11:00am until the funeral service at 1:30pm at the Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Old Millersburg Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
