Jerry Wood, 66, of the Midland Community, passed away Saturday, June 07, 2008 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. He was born in Rutherford County to the late Curtis and Beatrice Pinkston Wood. He retired in 1998 after 26 years of truck driving with Yellow Freight. He was a devoted husband and father and a member of the Campground Presbyterian Church. Mr. Wood is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Dana Jean Wood. He is survived by his wife, Jean Wood of Midland; daughters, Sheila Wood King (Mark) of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Tracy Wood Lingo (Andrew) of Smyrna; brother, Ronnie (Connie) Wood of Midland; sisters, Kathleen (Phillip) McCown of Midland and Eloise (Harold) Gaither of Midland; nephews and niece, Chad Wood, Brian Gaither, Paula Baxter and Chuck McCown. Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Wood Tucker Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 10, 2008 beginning at 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
