Pearl Hammond, 70, of Murfreesboro, passed away at Baptist Hospital Friday, October 18, 2013. Mrs. Hammond was born Loudon, TN to the late Charles Earl Viars and Sallie Evelyne Smith Viars. She was a homemaker, member of New Vision Baptist Church, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Hammond was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Tom Hammond; daughters, Jonna (Dennis) Freeman of Loudon, TN, Leesa Simpson and Katy Hammond, both of Murfreesboro; seven grandchildren; brother, Leon (Patricia) Viars of Brentwood; nephews, Mike (Christine) Viars of Nashville and Eric (Jennifer) Viars of Nashville. Visitation with the family will be Monday, October 21, 2013 from 11:00 am until the Funeral at 1:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Pastor Brady Cooper officiating. Burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family ask for donations be made to Susan G. Komen For The Cure.
