David "Duke" Herman Parker, 54, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Heritage Medical Center. Mr. Parker was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Joseph Adam Parker and Mattie Pauline Smotherman Parker. Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Brenda Parker; daughters, Amy Parker of Murfreesboro, Crissy (Brent) Rogers of Rockvale; step daughter, Tammy Austin and step son, Michael Haston, both of New York City, NY; grandchildren, Cory, Jake, Liam, Ayden and Avaya; brothers, Eugene Parker of Readyville, Lonnie Parker of Murfreesboro, Roger Parker of Chapel Hill; sisters, Carol Denise Stooksberry of Chapel Hill, Joyce Evans of Springfield, TN.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 1, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Graveside will be Monday, September 2, 2013 at 10:00 am at Smotherman Cemetery with Bro. Don Morris officiating. Burial to follow.
