Obituary of Gerard Nyssen

Gerard "Gerry" Nyssen 70, of Murfreesboro passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Mr. Nyssen was born in Hattiesburg, MS to the late Howard and Margreth Nyssen. He was a Chemistry Professor at Trevecca Nazarene University from 1969 until he retired in 1999. After he retired he worked at Vanderbilt University, University of Tennessee and Middle Tennessee State University. He was a member of Real Life Community Church of the Nazarene and a member of Gideons International.
Mr. Nyssen was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Nyssen; sons, Mark Nyssen of Hendersonville; David Nyssen of Murfreesboro; daughter, Amy (Samir) Osman of Murfreesboro; brothers, Dan Nyssen of Knoxville; Dale Nyssen of Fountain Hills, AZ; and grandchild, Silas Osman.
Visitation with the family will be Monday, April 15, 2013 from 4:00pm until the memorial service at 6:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Pastor Erik Gernand officiating.
In lieu of flowers family ask for donations to be made to Gideons International.
