Samuel Hicks, 78, of Murfreesboro, passed away Wednesday 19, 2008 at his residence. He was a barber in Rutherford and Davidson County for many years, member of the Murfreesboro Donelson American Legion Post 88, Veteran of the United States Army and a member at Turning Point Assembly of God. Mr. Hicks was preceded by his parents, Logan and Bernice Hicks. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Hicks of Murfreesboro; son, Michael Edward (Theresa) Hicks of Mt Juliet; stepson, Robert L ( Melinda) Johnson Jr. of Murfreesboro; Step Daughter, Julie (Jeff) Boyett of Murfreesboro; 3 grandchildren and 9 step grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Friday, March 21, 2008 from 4:00pm - 8:00 pm. at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 10:00 am. at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Lawrance officiating. Graveside service will be Saturday, March 22, 2008 at 12:00pm in the Garden of Rest Haven at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. In Lieu of flowers the family asks memorial donations be made to Alive Hospice or Turning Point Assembly of God. Those wishing may send condolences online at www.murfreesborofuneralhome.com.
