Giles Ernest Powell, 92 of Murfreesboro, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Park View Meadows Assisted Living. Mr. Powell was born in Lyerly, GA to the late Giles Earnest and Murden Powell Sr. He worked for Combustion Engineering and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of First Baptist Church
Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Burma Powell of Murfreesboro; daughter, Pam (Todd) Taylor of Murfreesboro; and grandson, Taylor Lowe of Murfreesboro.
A private graveside service will be held at Middle Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
Family ask for memorial donations be made to First Baptist Mission Fund.
