Obituary of Franklin Lawson

Franklin David "Dave" Lawson, 79, of Murfreesboro passed away on March 5, 2013. He was a native of Corbin, KY and the son of the late John A. and Lela Wilson Lawson. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired as administrative manager from the Jefferson Smurfit Corp, formerly Alton Box Board Company. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge #18 F&AM of Murfreesboro; he was also a member of the Al Menah Shriners Temple in Nashville, TN. He was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys Ward Lawson, and his sister, Una Wooton. He is survived by his daughter, Valerie Lawson of Murfreesboro; son, Greg (Stephanie) Lawson of Murfreesboro; son, Stuart (Tanya) Lawson of Lebanon, TN. He is survived by grandchildren, Christopher Lawson, Hannah Lawson and Emily Lawson. He is also survived by his nephew Jan (Mary) Wooton of Canton, GA. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 9:00 - 11:00am at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be held graveside at 11:30am at Coleman Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Shriners Hospital for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Road, Jacksonville, FL 33607.
