Charles E. "Papa" Thomas, 74, of Murfreesboro, passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at Middle TN Medical Center. He was born in Rutherford County to the late Paul Thomas and Iedd Johnson Thomas. As a young adult he was a member of Fosterville First Baptist Church. Moving to Portland, TN in 1951 he transferred his membership to Blue Door Baptist Church in Mitchellville. He owned Bellwood Auto Repair. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul L. Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Reba Pearl Thomas; sons, Bobby R. (Cheryl) Givens, Sr and Ricky (Barbara) Givens, all of Murfreesboro; seven grandchildren, Misty Givens, Tiffany Givens, Randy Givens, Jr, Charlie Givens, Justin Givens, Greg Warrick and Chris Warrick; ten great grandchildren; brothers, James H. Thomas of Murfreesboro, Billy A. Thomas of Portland, David L. Thomas of Nashville; sisters, Bonnie J. Dotson of Nashville, Betty J. Cripps of Hermitage, Mary A. Crook of Goodlettsville. Visitation with the family will be Monday, October 22, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 11:00 am at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Leonard Radar officiating. Burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Woodbury, TN.
