Obituary of Harold Conway

Harold E. Conway, 74 of Murfreesboro, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Conway was born in Syracuse, NY and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He began his Military career serving the United States Navy for 4 years and retired as Major in the United States Air Force after 37 years. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietam Wars. He received his PHD from Texas A&M University and began his professional career as a Professor at Middle Tennessee State University from 1966- 1969. He also taught at the University of Georgia, College of Charleston, the University of Edinburg in Edinburg, Scotland and retired at Texas A&M University after 12 years. After he retired he was a lecturer for Syracuse University. Mr. Conway was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Seamans Derby. He is survived by his wife, Clara H. Conway; children, Christopher M. (Laine) Conway of Fayetteville, AR, Sharon E. Conway of The Woodlands, TX, Patrick W. Conway of Murfreesboro, John E. (Kimber) Conway of Beaverton, OR, Michael D. Conway of Knoxville, TN and grandson, Michael Dominick Hall. Graveside service with Full Military Honors will be Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 1:00pm at Middle Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery with Rev. Michael O'Bannon officiating.
