Clarence "Red" William Raney, Sr, 77, of Murfreesboro, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at his home. He retired from Mid State Pool and Rutherford County Adult Activity Center and attended Kittrell Baptist Church and Wilson Layne Baptist Church. Mr. Raney was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Emma Zumbro Raney; wife of 57 years, Ella Raney; sisters, Nancy Beech and Betty Haynes; brother, Bailey Raney. Mr. Raney is survived by daughters, Lois Raney, Hazel (Larry) Lowe and Effie (Ed) Hillis, all of Murfreesboro; sons, RL (Jane) Raney of Smyrna, Jeff (Betty) Raney, Roger Raney, Teddy (Tina) Raney and Rooster (Yvonne) Raney all of Murfreesboro; sister, Ilene Cooper of Bedford county; 23 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 26, 2007 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Hale officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 3:00 -8:00 pm Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
