James Ray Shelton of Arrington, TN passed away on October 26, 2024. He was 85 years old. He is survived by his wife Oma Lee, Daughter Sherri Shelton Todd (Zack), Grandsons Cole Garrett, Logan Garrett, Blake (Tori) Garrett. Originally from Collinwood, TN; James moved to Nashville after graduating high school where he met Oma Lee. They were married for 62 years. He retired after a successful career at Nashville Electric Service, and worked as a ticketer for Vanderbilt athletics as well as the Tennessee Flea Market and Fair Grounds for over 50 years. A man of few words, he was known as Jim to his friends and Wawa to his grandsons. He was hard working, patient, and kind, and never let down those who counted on him. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Friday November 1st, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held directly after visitation from 1:00pm. Burial will be held following the funeral at Warren Cemetery in Pelham, TN. Flowers can be sent to Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
