I have many memories and fun times when thinking back to my Memaw. It's hard to only name a few, but the attribute that stands out the most to me was her nurturing way and caring for others. When I was sick and would stay home from school, she always asked me what I wanted for lunch. I loved her cooking, and I would always ask for a whole meal to take advantage of her need to care for others. She would spoil me with homemade vegetable soup or a vegetable plate of mashed potatoes, corn, beans, and mac n cheese. Those were special times where Memaw, Papaw, and I would bond over good, comfort food.
She was always worried we would get sick, so in order to keep us 'well' she made sure we never went to bed with wet hair, and would take the time to blow dry each of us girls' hair. We always had to wear socks to bed because cold feet were sick feet, and finally, she would tuck us in so tight we couldn't move. To this day, I always put socks on my kids' feet before bed because I worry their feel will get cold.
Memaw always thought and cared about others, and that's one thing I know she passed on to my mom. Now, as I get older and care for my kids, I strive to do the same.
We will miss Memaw and all her sayings. I will always remember how important it is to be "pretty on the inside as well as the outside, and do my best to not have ugly ways."
Love Always,
Holly

Mary was a dear woman who helped me to get my job at Rich’s be giving me a referral. I actually met her through her twin sister Sarah and they were both wonderful people. I pray for the family during their loss. I will never forget what she did for me as it helped me support my children through the years. Love and prayers, Laura Avery (McClanahan)

Jane and Family.
I am so sorry to hear of Mary's passing and what a huge loss for everyone. Mary and I worked together at Rich's for years and saw her and Glen many times after she retired when they would come back to her coworker's retirement parties. Mary would tell me about her growing up and one story she told sticks in my mind today. Mary said back in her younger days they would ride around the square in Murfreesboro. One evening she said they were on the square and a young fellow jumped out of his car onto the top of the trunk and started playing a guitar...She said you will not believe who it was... "Elvis". I always thought that was a pretty neat experience. Jane and I went to school together in the 1st grade at Eagleville and then I had the pleasure of working with your mom for a few years. Again, I am so sorry for the family's loss. Ricky Wilkinson
