Robert Gregory Shapard, age 51 of Murfreesboro, TN passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Born November 3, 1972, in Shelbyville, TN to Robert K. and Clara Snell Shapard.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edward and Corinne Shapard; and maternal grandparents, Sherman and MaryAnna Snell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 5 years, Malinee Shapard; daughter, Emma Shapard; parents, Robert and Clara Shapard; stepson, Ryan Eagle; stepdaughter, Sara Eagle; parents, and his beloved pets, Sadie and Scruffy.

He attended First United Methodist Church.

He was a graduate of Central High School in Shelbyville, TN and graduated MTSU with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He worked in the Rutherford County Youth Service for 25 years and made a huge impact on many children’s lives.

Greg never met a stranger. He was loved by many and liked by all. He was an avid UT Vols football fan.

Greg fought many years to stay with his family but succumbed to his illness bravely with his family by his side.

Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 11am – 1pm with the service to follow at 1pm in the chapel. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery with Pastor John Ragsdale officiating.
