James Crawford “Jim” Burkhalter, age 75, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024.

Preceded in death by his parents John C. and Juanita Davis Burkhalter.

Survived by wife Ann B. Burkhalter; sons James E (Gina) Heintz, Unionville, TN and Jared D. (Jade) Heintz, Charlotte, NC; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brothers Ted Burkhalter, Nashville, TN, Terry (Connie) Burkhalter, Knoxville, TN, Ron Burkhalter, Statesboro, GA and sister Susan Scheuer, Peachtree City, GA.

Jim was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church; he was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America and served as a leader for 38 years.

He graduated from MTSU with a BS degree in Agriculture, retired from the U.S. Army Reserves as a Major after 20 years’ service and retired from Rutherford Building Codes as an Inspector.

Visitation with the family will be 2:00-4:00pm Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life beginning at 4:00pm.
