I met Kurt in 1972 when I was about 10 years old. He lived just 5 doors down the street in Manteca, California. My older brother Bob and I along with Kurt and other neighborhood kids would ride bikes together and play sports in the local park... things kids did back then. We were in boy scouts, band, and other activities... When Kurt and Karen were married, he asked if the band I was playing in would play at their wedding reception. Since my brother Bob was a bit more popular in high school, I was known as "Bob's brother"... It was then Kurt coined the phrase "Bob's Brother's Band", which is a phrase that's still used to this day! My daughter even made me t-shirt with that phrase a few years back. When my wife Donna and I moved to Tennessee a few years ago, we made contact with Kurt and Karen since they were only 30 minutes from us. They came to a few of my gigs recently, at which time, between songs, I hear someone yell "Bob's Brother's Band!!"... I knew it was Kurt. It was great to be able to connect with him once again. We will miss you my friend... God Bless You Sir. Rest in Peace, and Go Rest High on That Mountain. Your friend, Don Jacobsen (Bob's brother).

I will always laugh every time I saw Kurt when hang out with Kaylah. “Why are you here?” Or something similar to that every time I saw him.
