Ronald Edwin Meyer, 82, of Naperville IL passed away on September 8, 2023.

Ron was born to Fred and Marie Meyer in Chicago IL.

Ron served in the Marine Corp after high school for 3 years. He was always a proud Marine and loved his country beyond all measure.

Ron owned his own business, Quality Homes, for many years. He built custom homes and room additions, including designing and building a second story addition on his own home in 1989. He worked for the past 20 years at Home Depot and grew to love his co-workers as family.

Ron loved all things Abraham Lincoln, including spending time in Springfield Illinois and New Salem campgrounds in IL. When his children were small he loved taking his family to New Salem and educating them on Lincoln’s life. Ron loved to camp in a pop up camper and go boating when he was a younger man. He loved music and couldn’t help himself but dance to Elvis, of course including the famous Presley hip thrust!

He loved being surrounded by family and bringing pizza or donuts and taking for hours on end about anything and everything, as long as good jokes were involved! Most of all Ron was proud of his children and grandchildren and told anyone he could how much he loved them. Ron always picked out the best cards for holidays and spent time to underline, even triple underline, the important words in each card. You knew a card from Ron was picked out with love and affection and deep thought.

He was loved very much by his family who will always remember his smile, humor, and witty personality.

He is survived by his daughter Megen (Larry) and her children Nora and Keegan, his daughter Joann (Craig) and their children Kristen and Kerrie, and his son Bill, as well as several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sons Robert Meyer and Keven Meyer.

A private family service was held.
