Obituary of Edwin Raymond Pullen
Please share a memory of Edwin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edwin (Eddie) Raymond Pullen, Jr., of Woodbury, Tennessee, beloved father, grandfather, and friend to many, unexpectedly departed from this world on August 5, 2023, at the age of 74. Born on November 3, 1948, in Blakely, Georgia, he was the son of the late Edwin (Ed) Raymond Pullen, Sr. and Jennie Beall Pullen.
Spending his early years in Damascus, Georgia, he and his family moved to Albany when Eddie was in middle school. He was a 1966 graduate of Albany High School. After two years at Gordon Military College, Eddie was honored to serve a year-long internship in Washington, D.C. under Senator Richard B. Russell. Returning to Georgia, he continued his education at the University of Georgia, as a devout Bulldog.
Summers during college were enjoyed as a counselor at Rock Eagle 4-H camp in Eatonton, Georgia. Upon graduation from UGA, Eddie was commissioned into the army as a 2nd lieutenant. The completion of transportation school in Virginia and flight school in Mineral Wells, Texas and Fort Rucker, Alabama sent him to his final station of duty. He served as a helicopter test pilot and as a member of the Redhawks 119th Aviation Company at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
After 6 years of service to our country, Eddie worked in medical sales with various companies until his retirement, later moving to Tennessee to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
Eddie leaves behind loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts: his two daughters, Kelsey Pullen Everett (Pete), of Milton, Georgia and Blair Pullen Arvidson of Christiana, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Brenna, Ansley, Campbell, and Peter (PJ) Everett, and Emilyn and Rowan Arvidson.
A celebration of life will be held in Albany, Georgia in the chapel of Porterfield Methodist Church on Saturday, August 26, 2023. Family will visit with friends at 10 am until the service at 11 am, followed by lunch in the fellowship hall for all guests. There will be a private burial in Damascus, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Eddie.
