You are the closest thing to a brother I will ever have and I'm so grateful to have had you in my life. I will miss you so much. Keep watch over us down here until we see you again. To quote one of your favorite bands, "meet you at the crossroads."

I've been friends with Natasha all my life, so when she met Berto I gained a new friend who would quickly become more like a brother to me than just a friend. I was blessed to witness the two of them fall in love, and hoped that one day I might be as lucky. We've stayed friends for years and I have so many memories of Berto, funny ones mostly, but my favorite memory of him is something so sweet and intimate, and a real testimate to the love Natasha and Berto have. One beautiful, early summer evening our families had gotten together to grill and just enjoy each other's company as we did fairly often when we all lived in Murfreesboro. We'd all had a wonderful evening just eating, talking, listening to music, and we'd all had a few drinks. Everyone was really enjoying themselves and just relaxing on their back balcony. Berto put on some Spanish music, grabbed Natasha into his arms, pulled her close holding her tightly and the two of them danced slowly to the music on their balcony under the moonlight and a sky full of stars. All I could do was sit in awe of how sweet and romantic his gesture was and you could feel their love for each other just radiating off the two of them. As they danced cheek to cheek I asked Berto what the song meant and he explained that it was talking about two lovers who were soulmates and that even death couldn't separate them because the man would find his beloved even if he passed. Like I said I have been fortunate enough to call them both close friends for years, and I have tons of memories I'll cherish for life however witnessing this intimate moment between he and Natasha has to be my favorite. It was just magical like a real life fairy tale and just like the song said I'm certain his soul will be with Natasha always.

Humberto was a trustworthy person, a true friend and someone that you wish never left us so early. His skills were beyond human capabilities, he tackled any job they put in front of him and executed it with perfection even though he thought he could have done better.

Q: What will you miss most about Humberto?
A: His laugh and smile. Berto is the type of person whose aura and presence attracted everyone to him. He was so funny and could be friends with anyone regardless of background. He was such a magnetic person and his presence from every gathering where he couldn’t be there was always missed. I missed him everyday before and I miss him so much more than I ever thought I could now.
