Joy…Steve and I were thinking about you and Dr. “T” today, and I found his obituary. We were so heartbroken to learn of his passing. I called the funeral home, and the lady who answered said I could still send a message. He was the best eye doctor our family has ever had — so personable, funny, and caring. I fondly remember the animated green tractor he used to test our eyesight and how I would always flinch with the “poof” of air to check for pressure. You were always a “joy” to greet us, ever so stylish, beautiful, wand graceful. You may remember my mother, Louise Brooks, helped you with clothes from Lillie Rubin. I’m including a couple of photos to help you remember us. One is of our family of 17 (soon to be 18) as Steve and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in 2024. We are grieving the death of a great man. Our prayers hold you close. Steve, Kathy Smith and our daughter Chelsea Parker

Joy and family -Although it has been many years since Dr. Thaxton treated me, I still remember his kindness and knowledge. You and the rest of his staff were always so friendly and I know that was a reflection of him. I graduated from high school with your sister Sue, and I still remember the day I walked in for an appointment and she was there working. Prayers for you and your family -Barbara Goff Briley
