Hayden Stratton Mason, age 23 of Murfreesboro, TN passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023.

He was born December 10, 1999, in Jackson, MS. to his parents Michael and Sarah Mason.

Hayden was the oldest of three children. He started school in Jackson where he played sports for the local teams. He was a member of the International Baccalaureate Program and Junior National Young Leaders. His parents moved to Tennessee in 2012 to start a new upbringing for the family. As Hayden was growing up, he played basketball, football, soccer, and even played chess at one time.

He graduated from Riverdale High School in 2018 and went on to continue his education at Motlow State Community College for a few semesters. Hayden was an outstanding individual. Hayden always had a passion for cars, clothes, music, shoes, and sports. But most of all the love for his family.

Hayden was a child that knew the Lord and the love he has for us all, we believe that is why he made the decision to be an organ donor. This is something that he did of his own free will, he made the choice knowing that he had an obligation to do as the Lord would do and give to others. Amazing.

Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Stephen and Jean Dillard; paternal great grandparents, Edger Mason; Theresa Johnson; Joseph Cooper; Odie B. Flowers; and maternal great aunt; Sarah Ann Hobson.

Survived by his loving parents, Michael and Sarah; sisters; Kayanna Mason; Makara Mason; paternal grandparents, James (Ethel) Flowers; Marcella Mason; maternal step grandmother, The Honorable Judge Margaret Sweeney; aunts, Katherine Dillard; Victoria Mason; Johanna Jordan; Felicia Jones; Andrea Flowers; Monica Flowers; Jessica Funches; Carolyn Riegel; uncles, Jonathan Mason; Kelvin Sheriff; beloved girlfriend, Caroline Steffner; and numerous cousins and friends.

Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 11am – 5pm with a Celebration of Life service to begin at 5pm in the chapel.
